“Hun”

This word irritates me considerably. It is now the default word which girls say to boys, and boys say to girls - be it friends, acquaintances , boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever. What’s it really all about?

If was given a quid for the amount of times I have been texted “heya hun” over the last fortnight I’d have at least enough to buy six months subscription to the Radio Times. In my opinion, “hun” is a ridiculous term of endearment which should be banished. It reeks of lack of thought, it screams of people trying to be familiar with people that they really aren’t familar with, and similarly, it makes me cringe because I really do not want to be the same as everyone else at the bus stop by becoming “a hun”!

Anyhow, I’m well excited for a few reasons at the moment. I’m watching my new favourite band tomorrow at the Joiners - Golden Section; although I am slightly angered that I paid £16.00 for the tickets via Ticketmaster, as the bassist just messaged me offering them to me for £8! Should be quality though.

Secondly, I have decided to learn the drums! I think it’ll be a great release for me, and similarly it will save my desk at work from becoming battered and bruised with my constant (almost subconcious) banging to the music we have on. If you live in the area and are thinking of taking it up, click on Simon “The Daddyfunk” Greenhills Myspace link from my MySpace page - this man is a superb fellow and his YouTube videos are also worth a watch!

Thirdly, I’m getting a new car very soon. On the plus side, I will be able to arrive that little bit faster, but on the down side, I won’t be able to park in 6cm gaps no more. Darn it.

Gig on.
